This year's ride in Upstate New York will be set in a region known for its 11 narrow, glacially formed lakes, dramatic gorges, and more than 100 wineries.

Here, riders will experience scenic biking routes that have both flat terrain as well as hillier loops around the lakes.

Ride Details


Riders Joining for 7 Days

Seven-day riders will arrive in Rochester, NY and begin the first ride on a route parallel to Lake Ontario. From there, the team will start at the eastern end of the Finger Lakes region and work its way west to cycle around most of the 11 lakes.

Riders Joining for 3 Days

Three-day riders will arrive in Rochester, NY and meet up with the seven-day team in Canadaigua on the north end of Lake Canadaigua (35-minutes from Rochester airport). Ground transportation will be provided by AHCT.

Daily Rides

Range between 40-70 miles, with elevation gains between 1,000 ft and 2,500 ft. Routes for avid and moderate cyclists will be offered.

Accommodation

Lodging, meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner), on-road snacks, and support vehicles will be provided.

Bikes

Riders who do not wish to bring their own bikes can choose from an e-bike rental at extra cost or a road bike, at no charge. Specify when you register.

Day 0 Saturday,
September 19

Today's Ride

Support team and seven-day riders arrive in Rochester and prepare to launch on Sunday.

Post Ride: Hyatt Regency in Rochester. Dinner at Pane Vino on the River.
Day 1 Sunday,
September 20

Today's Ride

Cycle eastward along routes parallel to Lake Ontario.

Post Ride: Shuttle to Sherwood Inn and Packwood House in Skaneateles, a vibrant, lakeside small town. Dinner at BlueWater Grill.
Day 2 Monday,
September 21

Today's Ride

Cycle near Lake Skaneateles, Lake Otisco, and Lake Owasco. Routes in this area will vary from relatively flat terrain to some of the steepest climbs in the Finger Lakes. Riders will be rewarded with exceptional views of the lakes and sometimes dramatic terrain.

Post Ride: Shuttle to hotels in Skaneateles. Dinner at Elephant and the Dove.
Day 3 Tuesday,
September 22

Today's Ride

Shuttle to ride start and spend the day riding along Cayuga Lake, the longest, and second largest of the Finger Lakes. Riders will experience the lake's glacial landscape, with gentle grades on the north end and steeper, more challenging grades on the south end.

Post Ride: Shuttle to Harbor Hotel in Watkins Glen, a town known for its natural beauty, waterfalls and gorges that will amaze. Dinner at Jerlando's Ristorante & Pizza Co.
Day 4 Wednesday,
September 23

Today's Ride

Today's ride will include routes around Seneca Lake, the largest and deepest of the Finger Lakes. It's known as the "lake trout capital of the world" and stretches 38 miles, north-to-south. Along the route, riders will no doubt enjoy parts of the Seneca Lake Wine Trail (more than 30 wineries).

Post Ride: Shuttle to Holiday Inn Express in Canandaigua. Three-Day riders join the group this night. Dinner at Nolan's on the Lake.

3-Day Ride Begins

Today's Ride

Today's routes will take riders around Lake Canandaigua, a lake known for its 36-mile shoreline, along with steep and moderate scenic hillsides

Post Ride: Shuttle to Holiday Inn Express in Canandaigua in Canandaigua. Dinner at Il Posto Bistro.
Day 6 Friday,
September 25

Today's Ride

Riders will cycle by some of the region's smallest lakes: Conesus, the western most of the Finger Lakes; Hemlock, the shallowest but surrounded by 45 acres of natural wetlands and trails; and/or Honeoye, the protected, natural municipal water supply for Rochester.

Post Ride: Shuttle to Hampton Inn By Hilton in Penn Yan. Dinner at Main Deck.
Day 7 Saturday,
September 26
Ride concludes for all riders

Today's Ride

Ride to and from the hotel around Keuka Lake, known as the "Crooked Lake." Riders will enjoy the landscape, challenging hills, and bluffs with scenic views and terrain suitable for vineyards.

Post Ride: Riders return to hotel late in the morning, prepare for departure and have lunch at the trailer. Those making flights will shuttle to the Rochester airport around 1:00 PM. Late afternoon/evening flights from Rochester are recommended.
